San Diego is where I was born & raised. It's where a part of my heart will always remain. I am so honored to have been able to showcase my first collection (only ONE WEEK after launching!) in my hometown. San Diego Swim Week (SDSW), ran by Eyga Mojus, is a network event for designers, models, entrepreneurs, and creatives that strengthen the fashion community.
The week started off with the SDSW Collective Event where myself, 7 other incredible designers, and other guest speakers came together to speak about their experiences in business, the impact of philanthropy, and life as a creative. This was my first time speaking in front of an audience! I loved every second of it but definitely have some room for improvement LOL! Lasso Swim got to film a segment for Fox 5 News which left myself (and my amazing best friends, Bella & Frankie, who helped me throughout this whole week! <3) so inspired leading into our main event! I had never been backstage at a fashion show (let alone even attended one before!) so my nerves were high but my excitement over powered every amount of uncertainty. I could not have been more proud of the outcome from our showcase and the overall weekend. I got the pleasure of meeting a multitude of amazing people throughout the week including all the BEAUTIFUL women that modeled our SS23 collection. Seeing my line on the runway was everything I imagined and more! It was such a great environment and learning experience. We closed out the successful week with a pool party and then some much needed rest!
I am so thankful for every single connection I got to make and the environment that was created within each event was so refreshing! My favorite part about working in a creative industry is getting to network with like-minded individuals who are uplifting and just excited to share, create, and inspire each other.
